Defeats Denison 6-3 to Earn Final-Four Appearance

TN---In
a match that was moved indoors due to inclement weather, Williams
advanced to the semifinals of the 2004 NCAA Division III Women's
Tennis Championships with a 6-3 win over Denison University
on Wednesday 5/12 at the Six50 Sportsplex (Memphis, TN).
Williams
jumped out to an early 2-1 lead in the match, taking two of
the three doubles matches from the Big Red. In singles competition,
Williams' Stephanie Hall pushed the lead to 3-1 with a win
(6-4, 6-0) over Denison's Lauren Gerlach.
Williams
(15-5) now advances to play Amherst (16-3) tomorrow at the
Dunavant Tennis Center on the campus of Rhodes College (1:00pm).
Denison finishes the year at 19-3 overall.
